Have you ever experienced that someone’s profile photo on WhatsApp doesn’t appear or you can’t see it? There are various reasons, one of which may be you are blocked by the account, but that is not the only reason, there are other possibilities.
According to the WhatsApp help center page, this is basically related to privacy settings. With this setting, WhatsApp users can hide recently viewed reports, profile photos, info, status, or read.
Depending on its settings, other users will not be able to see contact information on their WhatsApp accounts. One of them, the easiest to see, is the person’s profile picture - which is gray with no face or blank.
Referring to the WhatsApp help center page, here are at least 6 reasons why you may not be able to see the last report, profile photo, information, status, or read the report on someone’s WhatsApp account:
- Your contact has changed his privacy setting to "None".
- You yourself have changed your privacy settings that were last seen to "None".
- Your contact has changed its privacy setting to "My Contacts" and your phone number is not saved as a contact in your contact's phone address book.
- You have been blocked by that person.
- There is a temporary internet connection problem.
- Your contact does not have a profile photo on WhatsApp for some reason.
