Apple Sends Warning Letter to iPhone Leakers Originating in China

As one of the most anticipated phones, it's only natural that every year there are iPhone leaks circulating long before its launch. But Apple seems to be starting to feel hampered by the actions of leakers who leaked the iPhone prematurely.
A Chinese leaker known as Kang recently received a warning letter from a law firm representing Apple. Not only Kang, several other leakers also received similar warnings.

Kang is one of the top iPhone rumormongers on the list of AppleTrack, a website that tries to compare the accuracy of rumors shared by leakers. He ranked first with 97.1% accuracy.

In recent years Kang has managed to provide leaks about Apple products and software that are mostly accurate. Before the iPhone 12 was launched, he had uploaded information about the price, color and launch schedule in advance.

In addition to iPhone 12, Kang also shared accurate information about iPhone SE 2020, Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 6, iPad 8, iPad Air 4, and HomePod mini before launch, as quoted from The Verge, Monday (28) / 6/ 2021).

In his post on Weibo, Kang said he was warned not to divulge any more leaks about Apple products for fear that competitors would take advantage or mislead consumers if the leaks turned out to be inaccurate.

The letter also contained screenshots of Kang's Weibo page as evidence, which contained not only the leaked information but also other posts such as his complaints about Apple products.

Kang claims he never signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), released classified photos, or profited from shared information. He also warned other leakers and bloggers to be careful about sharing the latest product rumors with the public.

This isn't the first time Apple has sent an alert for an iPhone leak. Leaker and content creator Ben Geskin admitted to receiving a similar warning last year.

For now, Kang says he won't share any leaks or riddles about potential new Apple products. He also indicated that he would delete some of his posts and that he should be more careful when talking about Apple on social media.
