Clubhouse Accidentally Leaks Private Messaging Features

Clubhouse appears to have accidentally leaked a messaging feature called Blackchannel to some of its users.
This is based on some tweets on Twitter last Friday, Backchannel itself is a feature for users to chat via text.

And it seems that the Backchannel feature is not referenced at all in the app that has been launched, which means that Clubhouse has not made it public yet.

Wow looks like an accidental @clubhouse update in app back channel & sidebar swap & full experience.

Looks like it's rolled back now but from what I've seen it's beautiful!!

Clubhouse immediately removed Blackchannel's messaging feature after accidentally leaking it to several users.

Asked for comment, a Clubhouse spokesperson said the company is always exploring and testing potential features.

"As part of our product development process, Clubhouse regularly explores and tests potential features. These functions are sometimes part of the app, sometimes not. We do not comment on possible features." said a Clubhouse spokesperson.

He added that Clubhouse's founders sometimes discuss Clubhouse's product roadmap at the company's weekly Town Hall.

It's unclear how the Blackchannel feature rollout will progress. However, this feature is available to the public only for a short time so it cannot be measured whether the messaging feature is only seen by a few users or in a limited beta version.
