Google Will Warn Users If Search Results Are Inappropriate

To protect users from misinformation, search engine giant Google is reportedly testing a feature that will warn users if search results are unreliable or incorrect.
Regarding the rise of fake news, Google has started a fact-checking system to ensure the authenticity of search results. This fact-checking will improve the quality of information accessed through search engines.

However, these fact-checking mechanisms are often ineffective when a lot of breaking news arrives, making it difficult to fact-check and determine which is genuine.

In such a scenario when Google cannot guarantee the authenticity of the search item, Google will also create a feature that will warn its users about the search results.

It is explained that this feature will notify the user that the topic being searched for is new. Indications are given that fact-checking algorithms need time to determine the reliability of information sources.

Like the social media platforms Facebook and Twitter, Google put mechanisms in the form of deep learning algorithms to curb the spread of fake news under its platform.

In addition, many social media platforms are increasingly trying to prevent their platforms from being used as a place to spread fake news and incitement. If unable to fact check the search results quickly, users will be prompted that the search results they see are growing rapidly.

Google has confirmed that it has started testing a week ago. Test messages now appear in fewer searches, especially on story expansions and trending topics.
