For those of you who subscribe to Netflix, you know that Netflix’s Original Sex Education series is included in Netflix’s lineup of successful comedy dramas and has been the talk of many people. In its first season, which premiered in 2019, Sex Education managed to reach 40 million viewers, and of course it got a lot of positive response from the film’s audience because of its clear story and outspoken humor.
Currently, Sex Education has entered its third season which is supposed to air in February. However, because of the outbreak, the broadcast schedule also suffered a setback and there was no certainty.

The series tells the story of Otis (Asa Butterfield), a not-so-popular teenager at school who doesn’t really feel sexual desire. She had to pretend to put magazines and adult tissues on her bed to look like a ‘normal’ teenager in front of her mother who was a sex therapist. Because of this mother, despite experiencing delays with her sexual problems, Otis has knowledge of sexual problems that Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey) used to open a sex consultation clinic at her school.



Starting from Otis as the clumsy and difficult to interact main character, Maeve who has a strong character as a smart and independent feminist, Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) as Otis ’friend who is cheerful and proud of her identity. In addition, in this series other characters from various races, ethnicities, religions, and even the LGBTQ + community are very well represented.



As its title suggests, Sex Educations is very frontal but very informative in discussing sexual issues. Starting from sexual orientation, one’s fetish, how to have safe sex, to the consequences if you have sex without good and mature preparation.



For you or people around you who are still not open about sex education, suggest they sign up to Netflix and watch this Sex Education series. Aside from being informative, the cool humor also makes the series not boring.
