After more than 20 years of operation, this is the first time that Windows does not include Internet Explorer in its new operating system. Microsoft removed Internet Explorer from Windows 11.
Microsoft already has plans to discontinue Internet Explorer next year. As of June 15, 2022, Internet Explorer will be retired and the company founded by Bill Gates will prioritize Microsoft Edge as its replacement.
"The Internet Explorer 11 desktop app will not be available on Windows 11. Microsoft Edge is the default browser for Windows 11," explained a Microsoft spokesperson.
Despite this, Microsoft confirmed that the Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) for Windows 10 can still use Internet Explorer. For Windows 11 users, they will be switched from using Internet Explorer to Microsoft Edge.
Before Microsoft completely ended the history of Internet Explorer, the software company gradually stopped using the browser. As time goes on, Microsoft will no longer support Internet Explorer 11 for Microsoft online services, such as Office 365, Outlook and others on August 17.
A few days ago, Microsoft just announced the presence of Windows 11 to the public. The operating system offered in this edition presents a simple interface, improved performance, multitasking experience and so on.
Windows 11 brings many new features, starting from placing the Start button in the middle, providing a Dark Mode theme, various attractive Widgets, Snap Layout features, offering Xbox games, integrating Teams, providing a different look in the Windows Store, and using android applications.
However, keep in mind, there are certain conditions that must be met in order for you to run Windows 11, namely make sure your device's processor is at least 1 GHz with two cores.
Then, the device has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, DirectX 12 and at least a 9-inch 720p screen. Also, you should make sure you have Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0.
This TPM module should be present in all PCs, but may not be enabled in the BIOS. If you haven't activated it, then your PC will not be compatible with Windows 11.
