Blue Origin Gets Permission, Jeff Bezos Ready to Take a Space Tour

The good news finally reached Jeff Bezos. The space company he created, Blue Origin, has just received the blessing of bringing humans to experience space tourism.
Blue Origin has just obtained permission from the United States aviation regulator, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As quoted from Mashable, Wednesday (14/7/2021), the FAA invited Blue Origin to take passengers into space using a New Shepard aircraft.

On July 20, 2021, Jeff Bezos will follow Richard Branson’s accomplishments with Virgin Galactic. Bezos will fly into space with her brother Mark Bezos, 82 -year -old senior female pilot Wally Funk, and a mysterious passenger who has won an auction worth Rp 397 billion.

The July 20 option has long been chosen by Blue Origin, as they want to take momentum on the 52nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission on the Moon.

Meanwhile, this will be the first manned flight performed by a New Shepard rocket. The rocket will fly to an altitude of 100 km which is the boundary between Earth and outer space.

Bezos, Mark, Funk and the mysterious passengers will enjoy the scenery and feel the sensation of hovering for a few minutes in the passenger capsule, before returning to Earth using a parachute.

Prior to this, competition between Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic had emerged some time ago.

The two major spacecraft each offer a space travel experience up to suborbital heights. However, Blue Origin says the New Shepard rocket and capsule will take space travelers to an altitude of 100 km, while Virgin Galactic only reaches an altitude of 80 km.
