Elon Musk claims to live in a portable rented house that is cheap for the size of the price in the United States. The house is easy to assemble, its name is Boxabl Casita, produced by a company called Boxabl. Thanks to Elon Musk's news, the house is flooded with fans.
Boxabl has only made three units, but the number of orders has already reached 47 thousand consumers on the waiting list. To meet demand, Boxabl is building a factory that can manufacture 3,600 Casita houses per year.
The house is also available for rent, with Elon Musk's house reportedly being rented by SpaceX as a residence for employees and the CEO. The location is indeed close to the SpaceX research center in Boca Chica, Texas.
This Boxabl Casita house is made complete at the factory and delivered to consumers who have ordered. After arriving at the destination, all you have to do is assemble it and fill it with furniture, so it can be lived in, ideally by one occupant.
Besides being cheap, it is around USD 50 thousand per unit and thanks to Elon Musk, this kind of house is increasingly in demand as more and more people want to live a minimalist lifestyle.
Elon Musk himself admitted that he was happy living there. "My main residence is literally a $50,000 house in Boca Chica, which I rented from SpaceX. This house is awesome," he recently wrote on Twitter.
Not long ago, Musk did admit that he wanted to sell his luxury homes. Earlier this year, he sold at once three units of luxury homes located in the elite area of Bel Air in California. The fourth house is also in the process of being sold.
Musk tweeted in May last year saying he wanted to sell most of his possessions and would not own a home. The reason? Because he wanted to find freedom.
"I sold almost all physical ownership. Will not own a home," Elon Musk tweeted at the time. At that time, he also revealed plans to move from California to Texas, a state that does not impose personal income taxes.
