Galaxy smartphone users can now store COVID-19 vaccine certificates using Samsung Pay. This makes it easier for users to show their vaccine certificates when needed.
Unfortunately this capability is limited in the United States only. This new feature is the fruit of Samsung's collaboration with the Commons Project Foundation.
Users in the US may download digital versions of records of COVID-19 vaccines received from reputable pharmacies, providers or health systems. Furthermore, the certificate can be stored safely in Samsung Pay via the CommonHealth app. This feature is planned to be rolled out over the next two weeks to all supported devices.
To add and digitally display COVID-19 vaccination records, Samsung Pay users in the US can download the CommonHealth app on the Google Play Store. Once the user's health information is verified, the user can download their vaccination certificate in the CommonHealth app and add it to Samsung Pay for easy access and use.
Once downloaded, Covid-19 vaccine credentials can also be securely shared as a QR code with trusted parties such as schools, workplaces, while traveling, or with healthcare providers.
"CommonHealth's collaboration with Samsung marks another important milestone as the availability and acceptance of SMART Health Cards as the standard for digital vaccination records continues to grow," said JP Pollak, co-founder and chief architect of The Commons Project. "As a leading manufacturer of mobile devices and digital wallets, Samsung offers consumers a secure and accessible place to store this critical health information. The Commons Project is committed to continuing to expand our network of partners, empowering users with their own health data to use it in better ways. good and safe."
Hopefully, Samsung in collaboration with the government can download vaccine certificates at PeduliLindung and store them in Samsung Pay. As a result, it makes it easier for Samsung cellphone users if they want to show a COVID-19 vaccine certificate just by swiping up on the bottom of their cellphone.
