Elon Musk Shows off Human-like Tesla Robot Candidate

Elon Musk announced that Tesla will build a humanoid robot called the Tesla Bot. The robot project was announced at AI Day, a Tesla event held to attract new machine learning talent.

At the event, Musk revealed the shape of the Tesla Bot and a little information about the robot. While on stage, he was also accompanied by an actor who pretended to be a Tesla Bot.

"We're ready with the sensor and the battery and we'll likely have a prototype next year that looks like this," Musk said.

Musk said the Tesla Bot would take advantage of the same chips and sensors used by the self-driving features in Tesla cars. This robot has a height of about 172 cm and weighs 56 kg and will be equipped with a screen on its head to show important information.

As one of the people who has ever admitted to being afraid of artificial intelligence, Musk said Tesla designed this robot so that humans could escape from being chased by robots or even defeat them. This robot itself can run at a speed of 8 km / hour.

In Musk's presentation, this robot will have an Autopilot camera on its head. The Tesla Bot will be able to carry a load of 20 kg and lift a load of 150 kg.

Musk said the robot was designed to be able to perform repetitive tasks that currently only humans can do. According to this 50-year-old man, the presence of humanoid robots like this can change the world economy by lowering labor costs.

This robot is not designed to assist the production process at the Tesla factory. Musk said that since Tesla had already developed many of the computers needed for robotics, it made sense for the electric carmaker to build its own robots.

"This robot is designed to be friendly, of course, and navigate through the human world, and eliminate dangerous, repetitive and tedious tasks," Musk said.
