The American Antarctic Agency (NASA) opened a vacancy for 4 people. His job is to pretend to live on Mars for a year. Interested?
The British Daily Star reported that as seen on Sunday (8/8/2021), NASA began accepting job applications for 4 people who will pretend to live on Planet Mars. The project is part of preparations for future human missions to Mars.
Job applicants - if accepted - will be paid to perform various simulations of exploration missions on Mars. These simulations such as space routes, interplanetary communication, equipment failure simulations and food management and limited resources.
This simulation will be done in Houston, USA, not on Mars for sure. The Johnson Space Center building will be transformed into Mars Dune Alpha, a 3D -printed Martian habitat.
This area is 160 m2, about the size of a house in a housing complex. There will be 3 experiments to run. The first trial will take place in the fall of 2021.
If you liked the movie Matt Damon The Martian, then this task is right for you. More or less such an activity. You will be given ready -to -eat astronaut food, but you will also learn how to grow crops.
"We want to understand how humans can do this there. We're trying to see realistic conditions on Mars," said lead scientist Grace Douglas.
The requirement is a master’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics or pilot experience. Age 30-35 years, in good physical condition, no food problems and no motion sickness. More or less, similar to the conditions for becoming an astronaut.
Unfortunately, other countries can’t happen. This job is only for American citizens or holders of permanent resident status in America only.
