The leaked Corona virus theory from the Wuhan Institute of Virology has not abated even though the Chinese government has always denied it. Now there is a new bullet from French biological security guard Gabriel Gras.
Gabriel was one of the scientists overseeing the construction of Wuhan’s high-level security laboratory 4 (BSL-4). He noted that the Corona virus theory originating from the Wuhan laboratory was irresponsible.
"The theory that the virus came out of the Wuhan laboratory is unbelievable. The laboratory was built under close cooperation between China and France. There is no doubt about compliance with the highest international biosafety standards," he told Chinese state media Xinhua.
He really believed in that. "I'm not speculating, I prefer based on facts," he added.
Gras, who once lived in China, was the construction supervisor and commissioning of the Wuhan laboratory in 2017. According to him, the construction process is very strict on safety. “It is my duty first to check everything and there is no doubt about the level of security of the facility,” he said.
BSL-4 itself is the highest level of safety for biological laboratories, researching the most dangerous viruses such as Ebola. Now, according to him, the Corona virus can actually be studied in the downstairs laboratory so that it does not need to reach BSL-4.
“Operating a BSL-4 lab is very expensive, both in terms of money and time, because the longer experimental process is related to safety, for example by wearing high-pressure costumes,” he added, so it makes more sense if Corona Virus is treated in low-level laboratories.
"Using BSL-4 to examine the Corona virus is like using a 20-ton crane to move a 30-kilogram refrigerator. So it doesn't make any sense at all. The theory of the Corona virus leaking from a Wuhan lab goes against common sense," he said. .
