North Korea does restrict internet use for its citizens and for the outside world as well. Countries outside North Korea cannot access the website of the country led by Kim Jong Un. Curious about how North Korea's internet looks?
"When North Korea makes a new website, they never publish it. Either someone finds it by accident or it shows up in a search engine," said Martyn Williams, who runs North Korean website technology from San Francisco.
"We know most of these, but don't know if there are others."
This is roughly what the North Korean internet looks like. Oh yeah, this is how it looked in 2016 in other words 5 years ago. It could be that the appearance is now far developed.
1. There is a lot of news about 'Supreme Leader's Activities'
Most websites are in Korean, but some such as rodong.rep.kp - the site for the main Rodong Sinmun newspaper - also have English-language sites.
Here is a section dedicated to revealing the activities of the 'Supreme Leader', Kim Jong-un. For example, his visit to a fruit plantation while giving advice or advice about fruit farming.
2. Simple and too long
Many of his websites are running a long time. Some of them are not even updated frequently. Except for websites to convey government news.
According to Chad O'Carroll of NK News, a website that monitors media in North Korea, the design of the sites there are mostly very minimal and not user friendly.
"When you look at the website it's very clear it's from North Korea. It (the website) is not displayed like an international media outlet," he said.
3. Uphold art and culture
For food, there is the food site cooks.org.kp which is filled with pictures of 'famous Korean recipes'. This site has a list of all the major restaurants in North Korea including Okryugwan (most famous for selling Pyongyang-style cold noodles) as well as Pyongyang Dog Meat Restaurant, which specializes in its name.
To an outsider, it might seem a bit bland, but the site explains why North Korean food is so good.
"The taste and aroma, the color is beautiful, diverse and healthy for the body," he explained.
If you are interested in watching movies, korfilm.com.kp is a website that focuses on highlighting the North Korean film industry.
The Pyongyang International Film Festival is heavily promoted on this site, with detailed instructions on how to take part. The three types of films that you can watch at this festival are art films, documentaries and animated films.
However, North Korea's internet is still mysterious and closed. Its citizens are even strictly prohibited from connecting to the outside internet.
