Super Mario Bros. Carved the World's Most Expensive Game Record, Selling USD 2 Million

 


Super Mario Bros. breaking the record as the most expensive game in the world. Not long ago a Super Mario Bros. cartridge. from 1985 sold for USD 2 million!
Cartridge Super Mario Bros. it was sold unopened and got a 9.8 A + rating from Wata which means the game is still in good condition and like new. Unlike other most expensive games in the world, Super Mario Bros. These are not sold through auction. The game is sold through Rally, an alternative asset investment platform.



As quoted from Engadget, Monday (9/8/2021) Rally bought the collection in physical form, such as a rare game or comic, and made an ‘early offer’ where people could buy stock for the product.





When collectors want to buy a product from Rally, they will make an offer to all shareholders, and shareholders can choose to accept the offer or not.

In the case of the sale of Super Mario Bros. this time, Rally gave away the cartridge at a price of USD 140,000 in April 2020. In the same year, the cartridge was offered by the collector at a price of USD 300,000 but the shareholders rejected the offer.



Even with the $ 2 million offer there are some shareholders who don’t want to part with the game. About a quarter of shareholders admitted to rejecting the offer.
