Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 4 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event along with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. This is the first smartwatch to use the new Wear OS operating system, a collaboration between Samsung and Google.

Wear OS on the Galaxy Watch 4 series also offers a seamless connection between the watch and phone thanks to the Auto Installation feature. Settings on your phone and smartwatch will also be instantly synced. Likewise with the media player settings, for example, if the audio on the phone uses Dolby Atmos, the settings will be synchronized with the watch.
Taufiq said Wear OS will only be used by the Galaxy Watch 4 series and above. The Galaxy Watch 3 series and below will not get an upgrade for Wear OS and will still use the Tizen operating system.
But he made sure that Samsung would still provide software support for Galaxy Watch variants that still use the Tizen operating system, so users don't have to worry about losing support from Samsung.
