LG Installs UV Nano in Refrigerator Water Dispenser to Get Rid of Bacteria

 


LG Electronics has just released the GC-L22FTQBL multi door refrigerator. One of the interesting features is the UV Nano technology which is installed in the water dispenser to get rid of bacteria.

Refrigerators with water dispensers are not new. LG itself already has this feature in its refrigerator line. Along with the development of consumer interest, refrigerators with complete water dispensers are increasingly in demand.


Some of the reasons include the convenience of taking cold water without having to provide a special storage area in the form of a row of bottles in the refrigerator. In addition, with a water dispenser attached to the cross-section of one of the door blades, users don't have to open the refrigerator door just to enjoy a glass of cold water.


It's just that in its use, this water dispenser often goes unnoticed in its cleaning. With the end of the water outlet that is constantly open, allowing the attachment of various particles that are detrimental to health.


As a result, it is possible that these harmful particles are trapped in the water which is then consumed and affects the health of its users.


To overcome this problem, LG developed the innovation of UV Nano irradiation. Located on the inside, the UV Nano feature will perform cleaning by irradiation covering the end of the water outlet on the dispenser.


Without the need for special activation, this light will work to clean the inside of the water line automatically for ten minutes every hour. However, LG also provides an option for users to manually activate it as needed.


Nano UV irradiation is claimed to be able to get rid of bacteria in the mouth of the dispenser with an effectiveness of up to 99.99%.


Using the non-plumbed method, the water dispenser in LG's latest refrigerator works without the need for a special line connection to a water source outside the refrigerator. LG provides a container that is embedded in the inside of the refrigerator with a capacity of four liters instead.


In addition to UV Nano, LG provides the Hygiene Fresh + feature to maintain health in the cabin for storing food and beverages. This air filter eliminates various bacteria up to 99.99% that may be attached to foodstuffs and beverages when stored in the refrigerator. In addition, this filter also minimizes unpleasant odors in the cabin of the refrigerator with a clean capacity of 428 liters.


Meanwhile, to maintain the freshness of the food ingredients stored in it, LG embeds DoorCooling+ and Multi Air Flow. These two features work to ensure that cold temperatures flow quickly and evenly throughout the interior of the cabin.


Located on the inside side of the cab close to the door, DoorCooling+ has a special air duct designed to keep the shelves on the inside of the door at the same cool temperature as the rest of the door. In addition, DoorCooling+ works to speed up the process of re-cooling the inside of the refrigerator when the cold temperature is released due to the process of opening and closing the refrigerator door.


On the other hand, the task of maintaining temperature dynamics on the inner rack is part of Multi Air Flow. The shape of the design and the placement of cold air ducts at several points in the cabin allows the cold temperature to be more evenly distributed covering all parts of the food and beverage storage rack.


"The speed of recovering cold temperatures while making them evenly cover all parts of the food and beverage storage cabin is an important key in maintaining the freshness of food and beverage ingredients for family consumption," said Rumbi.


Complementing efforts to keep the cold temperature fluctuations low, LG has applied a special coating to the inside of the cabin. This coating was chosen because of its better characteristics in maintaining cold temperatures than the coating applied to previous refrigerators.


Located near the fans and vents that blow cold temperatures into the cabin, this fresh metal layer will be very useful especially when the refrigerator is disconnected from its electrical power.


With a fresh metal coating, this refrigerator can maintain a cold temperature in the cabin longer than other refrigerators which only have a range of three hours to withstand cold temperatures to retain the freshness of the food inside.
