Mobile phones that can protect users from cyber threats or hackers are increasingly coveted as cases of data breaches and so on are increasing. The German Nitrokey company smelled the business opportunity and released an Android phone that was claimed to be the safest.
The company has previously been known to design super-secure gadgets such as laptops and desktops. Now they are trying their luck in entering the secure mobile phone industry with the NitroPhone 1 product.
The NitroPhone 1 is actually Google's Pixel 4a, but has been modified to make it more secure. The operating system which was originally Android OS was replaced with Graphene OS which is known to be super safe.
Graphene OS which is actually based on Android does not carry any Google applications because its focus is on providing strong security features. The encryption system is said to be very strong and this Android phone will turn itself off if it is not used for a while.
Reportedly, any type of spyware attack can be prevented. Users can still install Android applications as usual, but access is very limited. The app can't access sensitive data on the phone.
Because it's actually a Pixel 4a, both the design and specifications are exactly the same as the phone. The key features are a 5.81-inch screen, punch hole front camera, Qualcomm Spandragon 730G processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal memory, Titan M security chip and a 12.2 megapixel main camera.
However, because it is equipped with super security features, the price has jumped to USD 750, far from the original which was only around USD 349. NitroPhone 1 is currently being sold by Nitrokey online for those who want to have an Android cellphone with maximum protection and the pockets are quite thick.
