Since introducing the multi-device feature, WhatsApp has brought many improvements to its desktop application. This time WhatsApp is developing a privacy setting feature for the desktop application.
This feature was discovered by WABetaInfo in WhatsApp Desktop beta version 2.2143.2. The feature is currently under development and will only be available to beta testers in the next update.
The presence of this privacy setting feature will be very helpful because until now WhatsApp users have not been able to set their account privacy from the desktop. Currently, users who want to control who can see their personal information must use the WhatsApp application on Android or iOS.
As is known, with the multi-device feature, users will be able to access WhatsApp via the desktop independently, even if their cellphone is off or has lost signal. Because of this, WhatsApp is slowly starting to add important features that were previously absent to its desktop app.
The way the privacy settings feature on WhatsApp Desktop works is actually the same as on WhatsApp for Android and iOS. Through this setting, users can control who can see their last seen, profile photo, and info.

In addition, users can also turn on or turn off read receipts, aka blue ticks, and can choose who can add you to the WhatsApp group, as quoted from WABetaInfo, Monday (1/11/2021).
Still related to the multi-device feature, WhatsApp Desktop also released an update that allows users to pin chats or paste chats at the top. This update has been rolled out for some WhatsApp Desktop beta users.
Previously, due to compatibility issues between connected devices, pinned chats in the WhatsApp application on mobile phones did not appear on WhatsApp Desktop. Users also find it difficult to pin new chats on WhatsApp Desktop.
With this latest update, WhatsApp users can view the pinned chats as well as pin new chats. After pinning a chat on the desktop, the chat will also be pinned on the phone automatically, even if the phone is not online.
It is not yet known when the privacy settings feature on WhatsApp Desktop will be rolled out to the public. The pin chat feature itself is currently available for some beta testers and will be rolled out gradually to other users.
