The excitement of watching movies at the cinema is irreplaceable. But there are times when we want to stay at home, sit back on the sofa while enjoying our favorite series or movie but with a cinema-worthy experience.
To fulfill this, electronics vendors make large-sized televisions. It's just that a few years ago the price of these devices was still exorbitant.
But thanks to technological developments, large-sized TVs are now increasingly affordable. It is even equipped with an operating system and features that make the sensation of watching a cinema present at home.
One device that offers such a blend is the Realme RMV2005. This television carries a 50-inch screen with 4K resolution and runs the Android operating system.
For several weeks we have used the Realme Smart TV 4K 50 Inch so satisfying when enjoying entertainment. Here's a brief review:
Simple yet Stylish Design
Realme Smart TV 4K 50 inch follows current trends, the design is designed so simple but still looks stylish. Inevitably this television will further enhance the interior of your living room.
Realme makes the bezels on the left, top and right so thin, only 2.6 mm thick. It almost makes the screen look like it's borderless.
At the bottom of the screen there is a bezel that is not so thick. Wrapped in a space gray color, it looks attractive but does not interfere with watching.
On the bezel there is the word Realme, just below it is a pad that is a nest for the power indicator light and digital assistant.
Even though the stand is made of plastic, it is sturdy enough to support this television. No less important is the installation is not complicated, making this television setup can be done by 1-2 people.
Turning to the back, Realme places all the ports in the middle. This position is quite difficult for users if they want to plug in cables, especially if the Realme Smart TV 4K 50 Inch is affixed to the wall.
Apart from that the type of port provided is fairly complete. All ports are placed on the left side, there are 2 HDMI standard, 1 HDMI Arc, 2 USB, Ethernet LAN, Optic Audio out and audio jack. Exactly in the lower left corner there is a power button.
While the power cable port is on the right side of the center. Realme provides a power cable that is quite long, making it easier to connect to a power source.
Beautiful Screen
Realme RMV2005 carries a 50-inch screen with 1.07 billion colors and 4K resolution. Because the bezel is thin, the screen-to-body ratio reaches 97.2%, providing a broad view.
The screen quality is great when watching a variety of content on this television. The Chroma Boost feature that was previously presented by Realme on its cellphone managed to increase the brightness and contrast, thus making colors rich and detailed.
Although not using OLED, the black color is quite good for the size of an LED panel television. In order to adjust to eye comfort, Realme provides picture modes, namely Vivid, Standard, Sport, Movie and User
But what's interesting is the support for Dolby Vision which makes the image quality even more pleasing to the eye.
This feature is immediately activated when the content being played is supported. You can currently enjoy Dolby Vision-enabled series or movies on Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix.
Audio
The thunderous effect that we feel in the cinema is not obtained through this television. We have to install a sound bar or other external audio device.
But the sound produced by this television does not necessarily disappoint. Two sets of speakers placed at the bottom of the screen provide 24W of power, enough to satisfy the ears when watching action movies.
A little information, a set of speakers installed on the Realme RMV2005 consists of one full-range speaker and one tweeter, the size reaches 183.3 x 46.8 x 45.2mm. In order to further maximize audio, Realme provides DTS Sound System support.
Not only that, the Realme RMV2005 is also equipped with Dolby Atmos features. When activated this feature provides clear sound, it's just that the surround effect is not so noticeable. There is a choice of Movies, Music, Sport and Standard to suit the taste of the ear.
Digital TV
Realme RMV2005 is supported by MediaTek's 64bit quad core chipset and runs Android 10. During use, switching between menus and applications runs smoothly without the slightest lag.
In addition to Ethernet LAN, WiFi support is provided for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. We can also connect speaker devices and others using Bluetooth 5.0.
Realme provides a remote with minimal buttons. And we are very happy that there is a dedicated YouTube button because many competitors' remotes are not available.
In addition there are buttons that make it easier to access picture and sound settings. No need to enter complicated menus and can be done while playing content.
On the remote there is a Google Assistant button, but you can activate it without pressing it. Just say OK Google, the digital assistant immediately responds marked with the indicator light at the bottom of the screen on.
The most important feature available in Realme RMV2005 is DVB-T2 support. This means that this television can capture digital broadcasts without the need for a set top box (STB) again, just attach it to the antenna. In our experiment, we got dozens of digital broadcasts in Jakarta with very good quality.
Our opinion
Realme RMV2005 provides satisfaction when enjoying entertainment content at home. Its spacious screen with thin bezels provides an immersive experience.
Plus the color and Dolby Vision support makes the eyes even more pampered. The sound system it has is not blaring like a cinema but it is enough to give satisfaction to the ears.
The performance of this television is smooth, plus the operation is so easy even for those who have just adopted Smart TV. The remote is so simple, there's quick access to your favorite video streaming apps.
