Twitter Tests Shopping Feature While Livestreaming

The trend of selling and advertising products when doing livestreams or live broadcasts is now becoming popular, especially in the Asian region.

Here the seller can interact with the audience and explain in detail the product, demonstrate it, and sell it. Well, this opportunity also seems to be done by Twitter.

Twitter has announced that it will be testing the Live Shopping feature when a user or seller is livestreaming on Twitter.

This means, instead the seller has to use a separate platform to make the sale or deal directly with the customer to confirm their order.

Twitter will place banners and tabs in the live stream so customers interested in the product can click on it to make a purchase.

"People naturally come to Twitter during major cultural events. Live streaming on Twitter gives businesses the power to engage with their most influential fans, and adding the ability to shop to this experience is a natural extension of attracting and engaging with a willing audience. accept," said Twitter.

Twitter said the Live Shoppoing feature was originally planned to only be available on iOS devices and desktops, while Android users could only watch it but were not given the ability of this feature.

Twitter will start testing the Live Shopping feature on November 28, 2021 in collaboration with Walmart. The event will be hosted by singer, songwriter and dancer Jason Derulo who will showcase a variety of electronics, home appliances, clothing and more.
