The beta version of the WhatsApp app for iOS received an exciting update. Users who have installed the update are reported to be able to experience the new interface while watching videos, similar to those of YouTube and Instagram.
Version update 2.21.220.15 includes picture-in-picture (PiP) capabilities. Not only that, video pop-ups are given new controls.
"It lets users move the PiP display easily, and also implements some shortcuts such as the possibility to end the video and display it in full screen mode." write WABetaInfo on his blog.
WABetaInfo noted that only a few testers of the beta version of the WhatsApp app on iOS were able to take advantage of the new control bar. However, it is believed that WhatsApp will slowly roll out its new feature to the new version of the application.
"Some iOS beta testers may notice a minor change after playing a YouTube video within WhatsApp and also immediately displaying it in full-screen mode." he continued.
Because it is still in the testing stage, this feature may not be officially released to the main WhatsApp application.
Not only that, another beta version of WhatsApp has updated the 'WhatsApp from Meta' branding. Just a reminder Meta is the name of the company that owns Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and other apps.
