A mummy in an unusual state has been found in Cajamarquilla, near the Peruvian capital, Lima. The mummy was found in good condition.
A mummy from AD 800-1200 is on display at the University of San Marcos in Lima, Peru, Tuesday (7/12/2021).
As quoted from CNN, the mummy was tied all over with ropes, then his palms covered his face. While the age of the mummy is estimated to be between 800 and 1,200 years ago, before the emergence of the Inca civilization in the 15th century.
Then why is this mummy bound and his face covered by his own hands? Scientists say it was the custom of burial of corpses at that time.
