Google will re -launch the Rise program for the third generation in 2022. Digital talent training programs for these students have previously been held in 2020 and 2021.
Google says the Rise class held in 2021 was so successful that they will resume the training program next year. For next year's Rise program, Google is providing 3,000 seats for students interested in signing up.
"In total, we already have more than 2,500 participants who successfully graduated from the Bangkit program. And what's more, 30% of those who graduated are women, in fact almost 70% are not from big cities," said the Head of Brand Marketing. Google Indonesia Muriel Makarim in a virtual press briefing, Thursday (2/12/2021).
"490 Bangkit graduates have also managed to find jobs or internships in technology. Of course we are proud because our goal is to make it easier for participants to get jobs in IT," he added.
Just like the previous Bangkit program, Google is back in collaboration with the Merdeka Class program held by Kemendikbudristek. They also partner with GoTo, Traveloka, and 15 partner universities.
Registration for the Rise program has opened and will close on December 31, 2021. The program will begin in February 2022 and last for one semester.
Later, the selected participants can choose one of the three lesson topics offered, namely machine learning, Android mobile development, and cloud computing. Google will also present two additional materials, a special module for participants who do not have an IT background and an English module.
Upon graduation from the Bangkit program, participants will receive a certificate according to the selected topic. Graduates of the Rise program can also earn up to 20 credits and be one of 15 selected teams that will receive funding from Google for their business ideas.
"Of course, we hope this can be the seed of a startup in Indonesia," said Muriel.
