Xiaomi announced its latest findings via Weibo, which is related to battery technology. With this technology, the battery capacity can be increased with the same dimensions.

The increase in capacity that can be achieved with this technology is up to 10% with the same component volume. This is done by increasing the silicon content of the electrodes on the battery while reducing the height of the control circuit so that it is flush with the top of the battery.


As a result, according to Xiaomi, they can immerse a 4,400 mAh battery with the same dimensions as a 4,000 mAh battery, as quoted by us from Phone Arena, Monday (12/13/2021).



Not only that, later Xiaomi batteries will be equipped with a regulatory chip equipped with certain algorithms that can increase the security and durability of battery cells. What this means is that users can safely charge their batteries overnight without fear of damaging the battery, reducing its capacity, or even exploding.



This kind of technology has actually been implemented in several other mobile phone makers. That is by using machine learning to study user habits when charging the battery, for example what time the user usually unplugs his cellphone from the charger.


That way the cell phone battery will only be charged to 80%, and will only be charged to 100% when the user will unplug his cellphone from the charger. This is said to be important to maintain battery health, namely by not continuously charging when the battery is full.


There are also manufacturers who equip the battery with a temperature sensor to ensure that the battery does not overheat when recharging. When the temperature is too high, the power delivered will be reduced.


Xiaomi's new battery is expected to be adopted in the second half of 2022. This means that Xiaomi 12 will likely not taste this new technology, because the flagship phone will reportedly be released in the near future.
