Realme Narzo 50A Review: Not Afraid of Running Out of Battery When Playing Games

Realme Narzo 50A enlivens the entry-level HP market . Not only the large battery capacity, Realme claims that this new device is cool for playing mobile games

We tested the Narzo 50A unit with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. What is the performance of this phone like?

Here's a brief review of the Realme Narzo 50A.

Design

For the design part, the Realme Narzo 50A still maintains the diagonal line design on the back the same as the previous series, the Realme Narzo 30A.

Changes on the back that are striking are in the placement of the fingerprint sensor which is made one frame with the rear camera.

The right side of the cellphone has the power button and volume button. While on the left side there is a sim card slot that supports the use of 2 sim cards and one micro sd slot. At the bottom there is a USB Type C port, 3.5mm audio jack

Having dimensions of 164.5 x 75.9 x 9.6 mm with a weight of 207 grams, the Realme Narzo 50A is quite heavy when held in one hand. Narzo 50A has two choices because of the oxygen blue and oxygen green that we reviewed.

Screen

Nothing special on the screen. Realme Narzo 50A has a 6.5-inch screen with a Mini-drop Fullscreen design. The screen resolution is 720 x 1600 pixels HD+ with a refresh rate of 60Hz. It's a shame that in the same price segment there are already 90Hz and Full HD+ refresh rates.

The screen ratio is 88.7% with a peak brightness level of 570 nits, making the Narzo 50A screen still visible in the sun.

Performance and Battery

Realme Narzo 50A is powered by a Mediatek Helio G85 gaming processor combined with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and a Mali-G52 GPU that helps the graphics process.

Before getting into the experience of playing games on this cellphone, we will check the benchmarks of the Narzo 50A. Here are the results:

Geekbench: 386 single-core, 1347 multi-core score

PCMark: 8677

3DMark: 711 Wild Life, 728 Wild Life Stress Test

Antutu v8: 210667

The gaming experience on Narzo 50A is very good considering the price offered. Playing mobile games like PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends or Garena Free Fire you can play smoothly.

How about playing genshin impact or honkai impact 3? The two games can still be played at the lowest setting but we experienced a broken game when we entered the battle.

PUBG Mobile can be played in HD resolution settings with High frame rates. While Mobile Legends can be played in high graphics settings.

Having a battery with a capacity of 6,000 mAh, there is no need to be afraid when playing games the battery will run out. We tested the battery reduced by 9% when playing PUBG Mobile for less than 60 minutes.

With a large battery capacity, the 18 watt charger provided feels very lacking. Because to charge the battery from 10%-100% takes more than 2 hours 30 minutes.

Camera

The Realme Narzo 50A has three rear cameras. The composition consists of a 50MP main camera, accompanied by a 2MP macro and B&W camera. For the front camera, Realme embeds an 8 MP camera.

There are several camera modes provided by realme, namely 50MP mode, Super Nightscape, Night Filters, Beauty, filters, HDR, Panoramic View, Portrait, Timelapse, Slo-mo, Expert

Our Opinion

Realme Narzo 50A uses the realme UI 2.0 interface based on android 11. The navigation and interface that is presented is very light and easy to use, it's just that there are too many bloatware or default applications on this cellphone.

Realme released the Narzo 50A into the entry-level cellphone category, which has a 4GB/64GB variant, and a 4GB/128GB variant.

With the price offered, the experience of playing games without fear of running out of battery and a fairly complete camera mode can cover some of the shortcomings that exist in this cellphone.
