Last year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle agreed to collaborate through their production company Archwell Audio with Spotify. They will later produce podcasts as well as host it.
In the agreement, the couple The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will create podcast content throughout 2021. Both also promise interviews with a number of well-known and popular figures.
However, until the end of 2021, there is only one content uploaded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during the special December 2020 holiday for 35 minutes.
Previously, Spotify has so far paid Prince Harry and Meghan Markle IDR for the video. With this huge expense, Spotify is confused as to why there isn't any content for 2021.
In fact, the two continued to appear on a number of other podcasts, such as Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert, until the controversial interview with Oprah last March.
This also makes the boss of Spotify give subtle hints so that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex couple can still carry out the agreed contract, thus protecting the billion-dollar deal.
"Spotify was delighted when they signed the pair, but the lack of content left us confused," said a Spotify representative.
"Especially because they don't seem to have a problem producing content for other platforms," he added.
Legal experts say Prince Harry and Meghan must still meet the deadlines set out in their contracts.
"If the contract says they have to deliver content by 2021, then they have to," said commercial contract attorney Neil Williamson, of EM Law.
