Zoom added a new feature called 'Attendance Status' which allows Zoom hosts and co-hosts to use calendar integration from Google and Microsoft to easily see if invited participants joined the meeting on time or not.
According to Zoom's support page, meeting participants who have been invited but haven't joined will be crossed into the "Not Joined" section, where their name will appear next to other latecomers.
Zoom hosts and co-hosts can also see if the no-show has the courtesy to click the “Accepted”, “Rejected”, “Maybe” or “No” option in their calendar response.
To view participant status, Zoom says hosts must have calendar integration with Google Calendar or Outlook calendar enabled and configured. As reported by us from Gizmodo, the Presence Status feature is currently in beta.
In addition, the new meeting monitoring tool can also be used by teachers and professors who are forced to switch to Zoom to conduct remote classes.
With several large professors easily gathering over 100 students, the attendance feature can make it easier for administrators to confirm whether their students ever actually attended or not.
