Apple's accessory AirTag has been praised for its ability to be a tracking device that is considered highly effective and affordable.
But on the other hand, there are dangers posed by using AirTags such as being able to stalk and track people or luxury items.
As recently as AirTag was used to stalk a beautiful model from the US Brooks Nader for 5 hours. Then, there are also cars that are marked with an AirTag so they can be stolen later.
Apple itself has several privacy and anti-stalker features built into AirTag. But in fact, this feature is not helpful enough.
Therefore, US House of Representatives member from Pennsylvania John Galloway proposed legislation prohibiting AirTags from being used for stalking.
"AirTag's precision search tool should only be used to locate the owner's property, such as keys, wallet or book bag, as the product was originally intended for," he said.
"This law will protect the citizens of Pennsylvania by ensuring that these unreasonable acts are addressed by updating our Crime Code to prohibit anyone from tracking their location or belongings without consent."
It seems that if these laws and regulations are changed into law then, there is a possibility that other countries will follow suit even the rest of the world.
Although Apple's way is rated very well for its AirTag capabilities, it's time for Apple to start looking for better features and protections to prevent future abuse.
