Elon Musk Offers McDonald's Transactions Using Dogecoin

It wouldn't be Elon Musk if he didn't create a stir. This time, the Tesla CEO offered McDonald's to accept purchases with Dogecoin.

Who also does not know the McDonald's in all corners of the Earth. This seems to be the target of Elon Musk who often performs marketing stunts, especially regarding Dogecoin.

His tweet did have a direct effect on the ups and downs of cryptocurrency prices, especially the Dogecoin it supports. This time he poked McDonald's.

"I would eat Happy Meal on TV if McDonald's accepted Dogecoin," Elon Musk said on Twitter, as seen Saturday (29/1/2022).

Accidental? Does not seem. Business Insider reported that Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus exchanged tweets with the official McDonald's Twitter account last week. Billy said he wanted french fries, and in response to the Dogecoin dog meme, the Shiba Inu bit the fries.

Regarding Elon Musk's tweet, McDonald's also responded. "Only if Tesla accepts Grimacecoin," McDonald's said.

The problem is that McDonald's doesn't make a cryptocurrency called Grimacecoin -- one of the McDonald's cartoon characters, Grimace. It's just an essay. But because of that, many traders are trying to make Grimacecoin crypto.

What is clear, this marketing stunt was successful. Elon Musk is indeed known to be able to play prices on the cryptocurrency market through his tweets. Business Insider noted a 4% increase in the price of Dogecoin after Elon Musk's tweet about McDonald's from USD 0.135 to USD 0.14.

What do you think? Maybe someday we'll buy burgers and fries or chicken rice packets with Dogecoin?
