Spotify Partners with Stripe to Help Podcasters Earn Money from Content

Spotify announced its partnership with Stripe to make it easier for podcasters to get paid to create a streamlined revenue stream

repeated, and strengthen the relationship with the listener.

As is well known, Spotify recently launched Podcast Subscriptions, a service that allows podcasters to offer paid monthly content. Stripe provides the payment infrastructure for Podcast Subscriptions, helping Spotify develop tools to support dozens of currencies for thousands of creators in more than 30 countries.

With Stripe, creators can receive payments from listeners around the world, in the currency they choose. For example, a podcaster in Paris, France, can now receive payments in Euros, even if listeners pay a monthly subscription fee in dollars from Hong Kong, kroner from Denmark and francs from Switzerland.

Using Stripe Connect, Spotify is able to simplify the process of accepting payments and verifying identity for podcasters. Stripe brings

ease of payment processing for every podcaster who registers on Spotify.

In partnership with Stripe to launch Podcast Subscriptions, Spotify has also used other Stripe products, such as Stripe Billing, Stripe Invoicing, and Stripe Radar.

"Platforms like Spotify make it easy for creators to earn recurring income from what they love most: storytelling," said Mike Clayville, Stripe's Chief Revenue Officer.

"We're thrilled to be able to help Spotify accelerate the growth of the creator economy. I can't wait to subscribe to some new podcasts myself!"

Podcast Subscriptions are currently available to content creators in 34 countries in eight languages.
