The name Ghozali Everyday, suddenly made the virtual world commotion by selling his selfies in non-fungible tokens (NFT) and the value reached billions of rupiah. Who exactly is Ghozali?
His real name is Sultan Gustaf Al Ghozali, a 7th semester student at the Faculty of Computer Science, D-4 Animation Study Program, Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) Semarang. The second son of three brothers, the couple Erna Setyawati and Heru Kamdani, admitted that he was surprised because his photos sold out and even went viral.
"Initially it was promoted by the Indonesian NFT community. Then foreign people bought it too, even chef Arnold bought it. He even bought it for 25, take a photo of my face, hahaha," said Ghozali while laughing when met at his campus, Thursday (13/13). 1/2022).
Ghozali didn't expect it at all because he took selfies for 5 years to make a timelapse video of his changes since graduating from SMK 5 Semarang in 2017.
"Originally, I took photos every day for timelapse animation. After five years, it became a video. That's the goal. It's been made and then uploaded to NFT, it's funny," he said.
Ghozali only studied NFT about two months ago and uploaded his photo at the end of December. At that time, he only thought about selling selfies, because many of the works at NFT are in the form of 3D or 2D images that are interesting to him.
"Know NFT from campus and from internet references. Initially, the reason I uploaded it on NFT was originally I imagined that the NFT contained 2D-3D or pictures of good works. I thought it would be funny if one of the collectors had my face. I didn't think anyone would buy it, so I set the initial price at 3 dollars, on purpose so no one would buy it. The first upload at the end of December only dared to promote 4 days ago," he explained.
Ghozali is not only a lucky person, but is persistent and consistent. Apart from taking selfies with up to 932 photos, he also likes to compete, one of which is a logo making competition.
"At the beginning of the semester, I liked logo design. At '99designs.com', there were all competitions, I participated in more than 100 but only a few won 1 or 2 in 2020," he said.
The Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) Udinus, Guruh Fajar Shidik also said that Ghozali was also a creative student. He has also received a scholarship at Udinus since semester 3.
"Mas Sultan is also a creative student, yes, he has received a scholarship since semester 3," said Fajar.
"He has the soul of a fighter, has participated in international competitions several times, won twice," added the Head of Udinus Animation Study Program, Khafiizh Hastuti.
