Denyse Holt, an 80-year-old middle-aged woman in Chicago, United States, survived a hostage-taking case. This came after he was discovered, not sending Wordle's game scores to the family.
This seemed strange to her two daughters, because Holt often shared the results of this popular online puzzle game. Worries were even higher, when her children's text messages and phone calls went unanswered.
After asking residents and local police for help, it was found that the glass window of his house on the first floor had been broken. Then a naked suspect was found on the second floor, who was armed with a knife, quoted by the Chicago Tribune, Saturday (12/2/2022).
While trying to be arrested, James H. Davis III, refused to give up. The police did not manage to immobilize him with electric shocks, and finally called the local SWAT and NIPAS teams to make arrests.
Before successfully apprehending the suspect, the police themselves managed to secure Holt who was in the basement. It is known that he has been held captive for approximately 17 hours.
Davis was also charged with several serious offences. This includes home invasions with dangerous weapons, armed kidnappings and attacks on peacekeepers. According to a statement from the local police, that the perpetrator himself experienced a mental health crisis and was ordered to be held without bond at the Cook County Jail.

Previously, Wardle, as the developer, promised that his game would remain free of ads or monetization. But with the acquisition taking place, it's possible that NYT will include paid content in it.
