Google updated and released a new version of Chrome OS called Chrome OS Flex, which can be installed on both PC and Mac.
Chrome OS Flex is designed not for casual users, but for companies and schools. But Google promises that the installation of Chrome OS Flex can be completed in minutes, both on PC and Mac.
Although it can be installed on various platforms, Google claims that Chrome OS Flex has the same appearance and user experience as Chrome OS on Chromebooks. Because this operating system is made using the same base.
It's just that Chrome OS Flex has several features whose availability depends on the hardware used. One of them is Google Assistant which is 'always on' and also syncs with Android phones.
Actually, before Google released Chrome OS Flex, there were already several tricks that could be used to install Chrome OS on devices other than Chromebooks, one of which was to use the Neverware service, which sells the CloudReady application, where users can turn their old PC into a Chrome OS system.
Well, Neverware has now been acquired by Google, and after the acquisition Google claims to be trying to integrate the advantages of CloudReady into the new version of Chrome OS. This seems to have resulted in Chrome OS Flex.
Interested in installing Chrome OS Flex? You can visit the Chrome Enterprise site and fill out a form to be able to try out the operating system.
Keep in mind, this operating system is still in the early access period, so there may still be some bugs that appear. But luckily, you can boot into Chrome OS Flex via a flash disk, before finally installing it to the device's internal storage.
