Facebook Messenger Has a Split Bill Feature

After testing Meta finally launched the split bill feature or separate payments for all Facebook Messenger users.

For example, when you and your friends want to jointly buy a gift for a birthday gift with this feature, it will be easier to share the nominal amount to be paid for each.

Reported by us from Engadget, this feature is found in Facebook Payments (payments) in Messenger, if you are a new user you will be asked for details regarding payments either debit card, credit or Paypal.

To use it, place all payers in a group chat on Messenger. Then tap the plus icon at the very bottom of the screen or tap the group name, then tap "Split Payments". You will see a prompt labeled "Getting Started".

From there, you can choose whether you want to share your payment with everyone in the group or exclude certain people (including yourself). You will then be asked to enter the total amount of the bill or payment.

The feature then automatically divides the cost equally between the number of people you choose. If one or more people owe a little more, you can also enter a different amount manually.

Meta's launch of bill splitting functionality for Meta is undoubtedly another way to keep up with payment apps like Venmo, Block (formerly known as Square) and Splitwise.

But given that many people already use Messenger to coordinate group activity or convey communication within a group, messaging apps may have an edge here.
