Rockstar Games has officially revealed that Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 is currently in development. This announcement was made by them via Twitter and beat the popularity of the Avengers: End Game trailer.

"Many of you have asked about the latest series from GTA. With this new project, we aim to always move significantly and beyond what was given before. We are happy to confirm that development for new entries is ongoing," we quoted from Twitter. Rockstar Games, Wednesday (9/2/2022).

The post also attracted the attention of many gamers around the world. Able to collect 105.3 thousand retweets, 40.2 thousand quote tweets and 590.7 thousand likes. The numbers even beat the first trailer for Avengers: End Game.

Where according to our search results, currently the number of likes obtained by the Avengers video is perched at 480.3 thousand even though for retweets and quote tweets, they are superior. However, with the timeline still new, it's possible that Rockstar Games' posts will go beyond that.

However, the developer of Red Dead Redemption 2 has not provided additional information regarding GTA 6. Be it maps, storylines, characters or other things related to the new title.

Meanwhile, based on rumors floating around among gamers, revealing that the work on this latest series will take quite a while until 2024 or 2025. This was revealed by a well-known game leaker, Tom Henderson, who previously had provided information regarding Battlefield 6.

Henderson also mentions that the currency in it points to Bitcoin. So if players successfully complete several missions, they can get rewards in the form of electronic money.

"I'm not kidding, this is what I heard from someone I do believe in and probably the currency isn't called Bitcoin. But it's going to be cryptocurrency," Henderson wrote.

Gamers can even later trade crypto in the game. Based on this latest rumor, GTA 6 will be set in modern times or even in the future.
