Jared Isaacman, founder and CEO of technology company Shift4 Payments, admits to being addicted to flying into space and can't wait to do it again.
Isaacman was one of four amateur astronauts to crew a SpaceX mission called Inspiration4. They flew for three days and saw an amazing view of the round Earth.
This Inspiration4 mission flew using a Dragon Crew aircraft fired by a Falcon 9 rocket to an altitude of 585 kilometers, which then hovered around the Earth.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Isaacman admitted that after his first flight he was fascinated by space travel and could not wait to do it again.
"I feel like we have a lot to do with Inspiration4, and I don't want it to be taken away unless it can have a good impact on the world," he said.
That's why Isaacman is now directly booking three space flights to SpaceX. The first flight is likely to take place before the end of 2022.
The flight named Polaris Dawn will be led by Isaacman who is also accompanied by Scott Poteet, who is the leader of the Inspiration4 mission. This Polaris Dawn is claimed to be the farthest space flight compared to other missions for the past 50 years.
The mission will also be the first spacewalk in history conducted by civilians. In addition, the astronauts will also test the Starlink satellite and conduct research on the impact of nausea due to decompression on humans.
Polaris Dawn will use the same aircraft as Inspiration4, which is SpaceX's Dragon Crew. While for the next flight will use the Starship aircraft, which is the next generation SpaceX aircraft.
This starship will also be used by SpaceX to travel (and land) on the Moon, as well as to Mars, we were quoted as saying by Techspot.
It is unknown how much Isaacman paid for this flight, as well as the Inspiration4 mission flight, which is likely to be less than USD 200 million.
