Logitech Pop Keys and Mouse Review, Makes Work More Fun

Are you looking for a mechanical keyboard to accompany you when typing an assignment or thesis? Maybe Logitech Pop Keys can be a consideration.

This keyboard not only offers an attractive design, when used is also very cool. The sound that is issued is a little noisy, but pleasant to hear.

Interestingly, Logitech presents it in pairs with the Pop Mouse and desk mate. The combination of the three makes work even more exciting, here's a brief review.

Logitech Pop Keys

Logitech Pop Keys comes in three variants, namely day dream (a combination of mint, yellow and lavender), heartbreaker (a combination of pink and red) and blast (a combination of yellow, gray and black). This last variant that we reviewed.

Although colorful, Pop Keys display is actually quite minimalist. This keyboard has 85 keys with a 75% layout.

This means that it has more compact dimensions than a standard full-sized keyboard. With dimensions of 35.4 x 321.2 x 138.47mm so it won't take up too much space on the table. Although the keyboard is easy to fit in a bag to take to the office, it's just that it weighs 799 grams.

Pop Keys has a round button, like a typewriter in the early days of its appearance. Because you are used to square square buttons, it takes time to adapt to different button shapes.

In the beginning sometimes the finger caught on the sidelines of the button. But as you get used to it, this is no longer the case.

Typing using Pop Keys is also not easy, because your fingers don't need to press too deep, thereby reducing extra energy when typing.

Unfortunately Logitech does not equip this keyboard with backlit. This feature may be intentionally not pinned in order to show a mechanical switch like what is currently trending on similar devices.

Pop Keys can connect to up to three devices, whether Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android phones and tablets. Switching between devices can be done quickly via the hotkeys on the function bar.

Logitech also provides buttons that make some tasks easier. Instead of providing a Print Screen button, Pop Key has a screenshot button that allows us to select the screenshot area, whether we want the entire screen or only the desired part.

Then there is a mute button that is useful when conducting online meetings, a button to activate voice typing and a metallic painted copper Escape button that enhances the aesthetics of this keyboard.

And the hallmark of Pop Keys is the emoji button which is placed on the right side. There is a 😍😭😄😂 button, Logitech provides additional extra keycaps 👍❤️🙏 and .

We can customize which emoji appear when pressing a button by using the Logitech Option software. Despite being a shortcut for emojis, as long as we're using Pop Keys, it's very rare to hit them.

The back bar to protrude a bit, there becomes the battery compartment. Powering Pop Keys requires two AAA batteries.

We personally would prefer the Pop Keys to come with an internal battery that can be recharged via a USB-C cable.

Apart from that, Logitech claims, when installing a new battery it can supply power for up to three years of use. In order to take even longer, it's a good idea to turn off this keyboard by pressing the switch on the right edge.

To connect with devices, Pop Keys support Bluetooth Low Energy and a more stable 2.4 Hz wireless connection via the Logitech Bolt dongle.

Logitech Pop Mouse

Logitech also has the Pop Mouse as a companion. Made with the same composition as Pop Keys, the appearance also steals the attention.

The shape is reminiscent of the Logitech Pebble, oval in shape and slightly flattened. However, the edges are rounded and made up to make it fit in the hand.

The left and right click buttons are separated by a small gap right in the middle of the mouse. When pressed it is so soft and doesn't make the slightest clicking sound, making it even more fun to use.

Logitech still provides a precise scroll wheel, making it easier for users to scroll through pages. At the bottom there are touch buttons.

Functions as an emoji shortcut. If you don't use it, it can be disabled, you can simply open the Logitech Option application to make the settings.

If you're the type of person who prefers a mouse with a dongle connection, Pop Mouse might not be for you. Because the connection only uses Bluetooth.

But like the Logitech MX Anywhare 3, the Pop Mouse has three Bluetooth profiles. This is useful for those of you who use multiple devices at work.

Switching between devices is so easy, just press the button at the bottom. The same button is used for pairing.

We were curious where the position of the battery is stored, considering that this Pop Mouse does not have a charging port. It turned out to only open the top.

We also do not need to prepare the energy to open the cover. Logitech uses magnets to attach the two pieces together, making opening the lid easy.

Pop Mouse is powered by AA batteries. Logitech claims this mouse can last up to two years before requiring a new battery. To be even more efficient, it's better to move the power button on the bottom surface to the off position.

Logitech Desk Mat

Desk Mat is a base for placing the keyboard and mouse. Look colorful when paired with Pop Keys and Mouse.

The soft surface provides comfort for the hands. The surface is so smooth that it makes it easy for the mouse to move, even so it doesn't make the keyboard easy to shift.

At the bottom of the Desk Mat has an anti-slip base, the rubbers prevent slipping on any surface. So it stays firmly on the table.

No less important, the Logitech Desk Mat is equipped with a spill-proof coating. This coating makes it easy to clean the surface of the liquid spilled on it.

Our opinion

Logitech Pop Keys offer a unique yet eye-catching workbench. The design is reminiscent of an old-school typewriter.

During use, Pop Keys is fun for friends to type. The button is so soft it doesn't take more force to press it, plus the sound it makes when your fingers dance on it.

The existence of the emoji button is just a gimmick. We hardly ever touch it. Unfortunately Pop Key is still dependent on AAA batteries.

If Logitech implemented a rechargeable battery with a USB Type C port, it would perfect Pop Keys. Similar expectations are also addressed to the Logitech Pop Mouse.

This mouse itself has a portable and ergonomic design that is comfortable when in hand. The scroll wheel is fun, the sensation of pressing the click button is so cool, plus the accuracy.

The Logitech Pop Keys, Pop Mouse and Desk Mat range should be purchased together. So that the experience will be exciting and maximum when used together.
