Renowned gaming company, Bandai Namco revealed their plans to build their own Metaverse IP. The funds disbursed were no joke, which was worth USD 130 million.
This was conveyed in the presentation of the medium-term discourse in the period April 2022 to March 2025. Where the objective is to introduce the latest program entitled IP Axis Strategy, quoted by us from VGC Wednesday (9/2/2022).
This new strategy, consists of three main goals, ranging from connecting with fans, increasing the value of IP and creating projects that can reach the world. With the final result, it is expected to increase sales outside Japan.
Bandai Namco said that Meteverse is a virtual space that will allow customers to enjoy various entertainments. Including a framework, to empower their strengths in integrating physical products and digital elements.
"We aim to create an open framework, which provides a place for connection with fans and business partners. Through IP Metaverse, we will build a community among Bandai Namco itself and its fans," wrote Bandai Namco.
According to them, through the community and the content provided, the publisher of this Elden Ring game will build deep, broad and diverse connections. This is expected to continue in the long term.
"In this way, we will work to maximize the value of IP in the medium to long term," he added.
Although it is still not clearly implied, they are trying to take the first step by building a data foundation first. Only then, develop the content in it.
Metaverse itself is defined as a three-dimensional virtual world. Allows users to gather there in digital form such as avatars. Also can perform complex interactions like in the real world.
So far there have been several large companies that have developed it first. There is Facebook which changed its name to Meta, Roblox, Microsoft's Minecraft, Epic Games, Niantic, Decentraland, Nvidia to Apple.
