On Reddit, a forum where anyone can share their opinion, there is the issue of the Illuminati and the New World Order that accompanies this eye issue. It is said, this one eye emoji is an all-seeing eye which means a symbol where God watches over all humans.
But the reality is not like that. America's leading producer or PSA, Ad Council, revealed that this emoji was developed as part of 'I Am A Witness' (I am a witness). This is an international effort to stop cyber bullying.
Children who witness online bullying can use the one-eyed emoji to flag bad behavior and let the bully know if someone else is watching.
"We wanted to give these teens a tool that was flexible enough in any way they wanted to use it," Cassi Newman, director at the campaign creative agency, told Adweek.
"Whether it's bringing kindness or support to the person being bullied, rebuking the abuser, or simply saying 'I don't support that', it's a pretty flexible symbol that can adapt to those different needs." That's according to the Washington Post.
