Realme GT 2 Pro finally came out of China and was released in Europe at the Mobile World Congress 2022 event. The latest premium flagship phone from Realme will also soon be on the market.
Vice President of Realme & President of Realme International Business Group Madhav Sheth positioned the Realme GT 2 Pro as an ambitious project that will help Realme compete with Apple and Samsung in the premium flagship market.
"The most exciting part about this phone is that basically, we can give users more choices in the higher price segment, which is only dominated by maybe Apple and Samsung," Madhav said in an exclusive interview with us ahead of MWC 2022 on Sunday ( 27/2).
Realme GT 2 Pro comes with an E4 AMOLED screen measuring 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2K (3216 x 1440 pixels) and protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. This screen uses LTPO 2.0 technology so that the refresh rate can change automatically between 1-120Hz.
The Realme GT 2 Pro screen also has a 10-bit color depth and can display 1 billion colors. The brightness level reaches 1,400 nits outdoors.
One of the advantages of the Realme GT 2 Pro is its design, which was designed with designer Naoto Fukusawa. Together with Fukasawa, Realme created the Paper Tech Master design which was inspired by paper art.
The back panel of this phone is made with SABIC's LNP ELCRIN bio-polymer, which is more environmentally friendly and has been certified by ISCC+.
Realme GT 2 Pro carries the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset which promises a performance increase of up to 30%. This chipset is combined with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal memory.
A 5,000 mAh battery with 65W SuperDART fast charging completes the specifications of the Realme GT 2 Pro. To keep the phone cool in any usage situation, Realme inserts a Stainless Steel Vapor Cooling System Max cooling system.
Realme GT 2 Pro brings three rear cameras consisting of a 50 MP main camera that uses a Sony IMX766 sensor and is equipped with OIS, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera with a 150-degree angle of view, and a micro lens that can approach objects close-up up to 40x. On the front there is a 32 MP camera.
Realme GT 2 Pro comes with the Android 12 operating system wrapped in Realme UI 3.0 which brings many new security features. Realme is also committed to providing Android OS updates for up to three generations, and security updates for up to four years.
In addition to the GT 2 Pro, Realme is also bringing the regular edition of the GT 2 to Europe. This variant brings the same features as its Pro sibling such as design, battery, RAM, and Realme UI 3.0.
The difference is, Realme GT 2 comes with a Snapdragon 888 chipset. The screen is also the same, namely E4 AMOLED but with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
Realme GT 2 is released with prices starting from 549 euros for the 8GB/128GB variant and 599 euros for the 12GB/256GB variant. Meanwhile, the Realme GT 2 Pro is priced at 749 Euros for the 8GB/128GB variant and 849 Euros (13.6 million) for the 12GB/256GB variant.
The good news, Realme says that the Realme GT 2 Pro will be coming to the market soon. This phone will be launched in the last week of March 2022.
