The Infinix Hot 11S NFC greets the market in November 2021. As the name suggests, this phone carries the NFC feature to assist user activities, such as sending files or reloading electronic money (e-money).
But the advantages are not limited to that, the Infinix Hot 11S NFC comes with a number of specifications that you can rely on to work on various tasks, including playing mobile games.
To prove these claims, find out how the performance, advantages and disadvantages of this phone, see the following reviews. For the record, the unit we reviewed has a 6GB/128GB RAM configuration.
Design and Screen
The Infinix Hot 11S NFC appears quite large with dimensions of 168.9mm x 77mm x 8.82mm. The screen stretches 6.78 inches and offers Full HD+ resolution.
The display is also decorated with a punch hole (screen hole) which is also the home for the selfie camera. The screen hole is small enough so it doesn't really interfere with the display.
The screen bezel is also quite slim, so it looks spacious. Not only physical, the Infinix Hot 11S screen is also equipped with 90 Hz refresh rate technology. This support allows users to get a fast navigation experience.
The refresh rate can also be set to 60 Hz, or set automatically, according to the content displayed. If the refresh rate is set automatically, the phone's power will last longer.
Although it comes in a dark color (Polar Black), the back shell of the Infinix Hot 11S NFC is designed to have vertical lines with a shimmering effect when exposed to light. The back of this phone is also decorated with three cameras with a square shape and diagonal angles. The camera is quite prominent, so there is a difference between the surface of the case and the camera housing.
The material on the back of the Infinix Hot 11S NFC is quite comfortable to grip without feeling slippery. However, the body is quite long, so a number of menus on the screen are a bit difficult to reach when operated with one hand. Even so, the body of this phone is quite slim even though it is held in one hand.
Apparently the large body of the phone is also recognized by Infinix. For this reason, the company provides a one-hand feature that makes the screen display smaller and becomes more friendly to use with one hand.
The display position itself can be adjusted on the right and left, making it easier to navigate the menu using the right or left hand. To return it to the default view is also quite easy, because there is a button with an X icon to exit.
The power and volume buttons are placed on the right of the phone, as is the case with other phones. The power button also accommodates the fingerprint sensor at the same time. While the SIM card slot is placed on the left of the phone. Users can install dual nano SIM cards, as well as microSD freely without having to alternate.
Meanwhile, the bottom of the phone houses a number of ports such as a USB Type-C port for recharging the battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone and a speaker hole.
Camera
The Infinix Hot 11S NFC camera has a 50MP configuration as the main camera, a 2MP depth sensor and an AI camera.
When opening the camera menu, the Infinix Hot 11S NFC offers a camera that is supported by artificial intelligence (AI) without the option to use the camera without AI. In general, the Infinix main camera is able to offer pretty good photo results where detailed images can be taken quite sharp. This result holds true for objects captured when lighting is sufficient.
Photos taken indoors are also quite good with standard room lighting.
The drawback is that the determination of the focus of the object is quite long, so that sometimes photos are taken with less sharp focus. However, this only applies when photographing objects with poor lighting.
Infinix Hot 11S NFC also offers a portrait mode that allows users to get a bokeh effect on photos. The bokeh results are pretty neat in separating photo objects from the background. As in the photo below, where the bokeh looks smooth, so the subject of the photo can be seen clearly.
This phone also offers an HDR feature that allows the camera to capture photo objects with dynamic lighting. When this feature is activated, the photos appear brighter than without HDR. The image details are both good and sharp enough, but photos with HDR appear clearer because the color tones are increased, making photos appear brighter and clearer.
Infinix Hot 11S NFC is also equipped with the Super Night feature. This feature can be used to take pictures of objects at night, where the lighting is quite limited. But even though it only uses the default camera, this phone can capture the moment quite well even though the lighting is standard.
In this photo, for example, the person in front of the shop who is in the distance, can still be captured well, although not so detailed when the photo is enlarged in the gallery.
For the front camera, the Infinix Hot 11S NFC offers an 8MP resolution.
With this camera, users can take selfies, use Augmented Reality (AR) stickers, take advantage of beauty effects, and record short videos.
The photos are quite good for an entry-class phone, where the details are quite sharp and the colors are natural, although sometimes the results look overexposure.
To make selfie photos more unique, users can use the AR Shot feature which will add a number of cute stickers, such as cats, rabbits, flowers, and others. The photo with AR Shot below was even captured at night, so the detail is quite reduced compared to daytime selfies.
The video feature itself is equipped with 720p and 1080p resolutions up to 2K. Users can also make short videos without additional editing applications because the Infinix Hote 11S NFC provides a variety of filters to music to complement the creation of short videos.
Performance
The Infinix Hot 11S NFC runway is supported by the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This chipset itself is designed to support mobile gaming activities.
In addition, this phone is also equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The capacity is indeed large enough to support activities on mobile phones. But recharging takes quite a while, almost 2.5 hours from 0% to 100% power, using the built-in charger. The durability itself is reliable enough to be used all day. Testing using the PCMark Work 3.0 benchmark application also shows the Infinix Hot 11S NFC can last up to 11 hours.
So how is the gaming experience using the Infinix Hot 11S NFC?
We tried running the PUBG game on this phone for 30 minutes. The graphics settings are set at the highest settings supported by the Infinix Hot 11S, namely Smooth-Ultra. The anti-aliasing feature is also enabled.
With these settings, in general, the game can run smoothly without any lagging symptoms. The temperature also feels normal without any increase. Unfortunately, the sensitivity of the screen feels less than optimal, so every movement when executing commands is quite delayed. The battery drained about 8% during 30 minutes of playing.
Meanwhile, for light games like Magic Tiles, the Infinix Hot 11S NFC provides a pleasant experience. This game itself demands a screen sensitivity that is quite capable to run the game.
Our opinion
The performance of the Infinix Hot 11S is indeed quite lacking to be invited to play games. While the camera itself is still good enough to reliably capture the moment, both day and night. In conclusion, this phone can be used to communicate and play the occasional mobile game. The battery is also quite large so it lasts a long time.
