See More Antonov's Largest Cargo Plane Lands in Yogyakarta

A Russian military strike outside the Ukrainian capital Kiev destroys the world's largest cargo plane, the Antonov-225. Well, it turns out that there was an Antonov plane that landed in Indonesia.

The iron bird was attacked on Sunday (27/2) local time, precisely while parking at Antonov Airport in Gostomel.

Antonov-225 which has six turbofan engines can load a maximum weight of 250 tons, with an air speed of up to 850 km per hour.

This strength is supported by the body of the Antonov-225 which has a length of up to 84 meters with the longest love span in the world.

The Antonov-225 is operated with Antonov and Air Foyle, England, as a commercial aircraft. Meanwhile, this cargo plane is called Mriya which in Ukrainian is a dream.

This type of An-225 is also the only aircraft ever made by the Kiev-based company Antonov. The aircraft first flew in 1988 and have been in service ever since. Construction began on the second plane, but was never completed.

Launching from the Air Charter Service page, this aircraft has held a number of world records, one of which is the heaviest payload ever carried at 247,000 kilograms (545,000 pounds) which is equivalent to five dismantled Boeing 737s, or nearly two Boeing 747s, or about 3,500 washers. .

Apparently, this Antonov plane once stopped in Indonesia, to be precise at Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in March 2021. However, the type of aircraft that landed at that time was AN124-100.

The arrival of the world's largest cargo plane in Indonesia at that time was to transport cargo export commodities to the United States of America's Columbus (LCK).

It was noted that Antonov cargo planes landed at YIA Airport twice in the same month last year.
