Through the 5G Impact on the Global Mobile Network Experience report, OpenSignal analyzed 100 countries with or without 5G networks to study whether the quality and speed of mobile networks has improved in the 5G era and compare the quality of 5G networks with 4G and other networks.
As a result, South Korea became the country with the highest 5G internet download speeds. Thanks to the presence of the 5G network, the download speed of the Ginseng country has reached 129.7 Mbps as of Q4 2021.
In the Southeast Asia region, in the 5G era, Indonesia's internet speed is still inferior to Singapore with a download speed of 49.9 Mbps, Vietnam with a download speed of 25.5 Mbps, and the Philippines with a download speed of 15.1 Mbps.
Just below the Philippines, there is Indonesia with a download internet speed of 14.4 Mbps. However, according to OpenSignal, Indonesia's global ranking has slightly increased.

Previously in Q1 before 5G, Indonesia was the 74th internet download speed, now it's 68th in Q4 2021. OpenSignal said Indonesia's internet download speed rose 2.1 times compared to 2018.
Meanwhile, the slowest internet download speed experience in 2021 was recorded at 9.2 Mbps, which is 2.4 times faster than 2018.
Meanwhile, for gaming experience, Indonesia is ranked 51st with a score of 59.6 on a 100-point scale. There has been an increase of 3.7 points since Q1 2020.
