In 2019, Spotify tested a device called the 'Car Thing' that would allow Spotify Premium users to play music and podcasts while driving.
Then in 2021 Car Thing was officially launched for a limited number of Spotify Premium users. But now the device can be purchased more users in the United States for USD 90 .
"We developed Car Thing because we saw that our users wanted a more seamless and personalized in-car listening experience, no matter the year or model of their vehicle," Spotify wrote on its official blog, as seen Thursday (24/2/2022).
"With Car Thing, more and more audio enthusiasts can access Spotify's entire catalog of music and podcasts in a wider variety of vehicles."
To install this device, it's easy for users to just pair it via Bluetooth, AUX, or USB. It also comes with three different dash and vent mounts to ensure it attaches securely to the dashboard, as well as a car charger and USB-C cable.
Not only that, users can also set the desired song by simply saying 'Hey Spotify'. Car Things is already supported with iOS and Android devices.
Unfortunately there is no further information whether this device will also be sold outside the United States or not.
