Telegram has released a new update version 8.5 for Android and iOS devices. A number of new features are provided to make texting even more exciting, what are they?
1. Video Stickers
Telegram has made it easy to create your own custom stickers now. Even now users can create detailed animated stickers from regular videos using any video editing program. As usual stickers can be published using the @Stickers bot or or add some new sets created by others.
2. Animated Reaction Emoji
Emoji reactions to messages were added in a previous update. Allows users to react to individual messages in chat with emojis.
The feature has now been improved with more concise animations and a new button for invisible reactions. Users can press and hold a reaction in the menu for greater effect.
As with interactive emoji, reactions are now synced, so recipients will see the animation in real time. Not only used to express emotions, reactions can also be used to answer questions and give approval.
Telegram provides 5 new reactions, namely: . These reactions can also be sent as interactive emojis. Just send the reaction earlier in a private chat, then tap on the animation to show the effect full-screen.
3. Navigate recent chats
There is a new shortcut for navigating between unread Channels. Press and hold the 'Back' button. This will bring up a small menu consisting of recently accessed chats.
4. Bug Fixes
Other changes include improved call quality, the option to send silent messages from the share menu, support for translation to the Instant View page and of course, various bug fixes.
On iOS, users will also see a new animation when they tap the icon on the bar.
Telegram 8.5 update is already available for all iOS users, for Android you can download Telegram directly via telegram.org/android. The Google Play version is currently under review and will be available later.
