The Story of Steve Jobs's biological father, Abdul Fattah Jandali from Syria

It is said that there are two things that changed the world, the 'Apple' that fell and inspired Isaac Newton, then the 'Apple' from Steve Jobs. Of course, many people use Apple -made technology and feel helped. Figure, Steve Jobs is also felt to have great charisma.

Not surprisingly, more and more people are curious about Steve Jobs's life, even to the point of his biological father, who turned out to be a man of Syrian blood. His father was named Abdul Fattah Jandali.

In an interview with Fortune Magazine, Jandali once told about his family's life. He said he was born in Homs, Syria. At the age of 18, Jandali went to Beirut to continue his studies at the University of Beirut.

However, due to the political situation, Jandali was forced to fly to the United States in 1954 where he lived with one of his relatives, the Syrian ambassador, Najm Eddin al Rifai, in New York.

Jandali then spent time studying at Colombia University, going on to Wisconsin University on a scholarship in economics and politics.

While studying in Wisconsin, Jandali dated German-Swiss woman Joanne Carol Schieble. Joanne is pregnant but her father refuses to allow her to marry Jandali. Jandali also left Joanne a few days before the birth of a baby boy in 1956. She never saw her son.

Joanne placed her newborn child for adoption in San Francisco and soon, the couple, Paul and Clara Jobs, adopted the child. Yes, that boy is Steve Jobs.

A few months after the adoption, Jandali reappears in Joanne's life and they marry. A year later, they had a girl they named Mona. Unfortunately, after that, he began to face financial problems and was forced to travel to Syria in the hope that he could get a job. But he did not succeed in becoming a diplomat, as he had hoped. Finally, he worked as a director at an oil refinery in Homs for a year. During this time, he separated from his wife and later they divorced.

In 1962, Jandali returned to the U.S. but did not contact Joanne, who had remarried to an American national. He found out a few years later. Jandali eventually worked as an assistant professor at Michigan University and later Nevada University.

As time went on, Jandali bought a restaurant. He then worked as a director at leading companies and institutions in Las Vegas before returning to the restaurant industry where he opened two restaurants in Reno before joining Boomtown Casino and Hotel.

Jandali in an interview said he had never visited Syria and Lebanon in the last 35 years. Also, he never met his famous son, Steve Jobs. This was quoted from Al Arabiya, Wednesday (24/2/2022).
