YouTube has added a new indicator to show if the account is live on its platform. This was conveyed by Chief Product Officer Neal Mohan via his Twitter account.
"We are focused on making it easier for users to find live streaming on YouTube. So we launched the Live Rings feature for mobile devices," he wrote as quoted by us from The Verge, Thursday (24/2/2022).
This indicator will display a ring with the words 'Live' around the profile picture of the account during a live broadcast. Once clicked then the user can watch it.
This feature will make it easier for users to find content that is currently broadcasting live while browsing YouTube.
This feature is also similar to that of TikTok and Instagram. In TikTok, the circle of the user's profile photo will show an effect such as ticking with the words Live.
While Instagram will display a colorful ring around the account profile picture. Instagram's Live Ring can be found in the top column of the feed, next to Stories content.
Previously, YouTube also followed other features with the presence of YouTube Shorts, a feature in the form of short videos that appear in a vertical format.
