On Friday, several users of the Zoom application, especially on MacOS devices, reported that the application was still able to access the microphone even though the user had ended a call.
This raises the concern of many users that their audio data is still being transmitted even when the call has ended and the microphone should have been muted.
A Zoom spokesperson also said that based on the investigation that has been carried out, it is claimed that the bug does not result in audio data being sent back to Zoom.
Previously Zoom also mentioned that the bug was actually fixed at the end of January 2022 yesterday in the version 5.9.3 update as reported by us from Ubergizmo.
However, the update did not mention what problems were fixed so it is not clear whether Zoom has fixed the Zoom or not.
The reason is because Zoom has done an update in early December 2021 which should have fixed the bug, but Mac users are still finding the bug.
"We encountered a bug related to the Zoom client for macOS, which may show an orange indicator light continuing to appear after leaving a meeting, call, or webinar. This bug was addressed in the Zoom client for macOS version 5.9.3 and we recommend that you update to version 5.9 .3 to apply the fix," wrote in a post on community site Zoom.
