SnackVideo recently published its inaugural Transparency Report. It was revealed that more than 12 million videos had been removed from the platform for violating the rules.
SnackVideo said publishing the Transparency Report is one way to increase knowledge and understanding of the policies, approaches, and enforcement measures taken with regard to security and privacy. This inaugural Transparency Report takes place on 1 July - 31 December.
"The SnackVideo Transparency Report will be produced every half year. Questions, feedback, and input related to this first report can be sent via email to transparency@kwai.com," said SnackVideo.
Several forms of efforts to maintain user security are the enforcement of Community Guidelines and Terms of Service (Terms of Service).
As a form of Community Guidelines enforcement, 12,334,935 videos were removed worldwide for violating the Community Guidelines or Terms of Service in the second half of 2021. The policies SnakcVideo considers when removing content are:
1. Dangerous individuals and organizations
2. Harassment and bullying
3. Illegal activities and regulated goods
4. Integrity and authenticity
5. Safety for minors
6. Sexuality and nudity
7. Suicide, self-harm, and dangerous acts.
In addition to video deletion, there are also enforcement actions related to account deletion, legal requests for user data, content viewing restrictions, and intellectual property infringement.
Another effort made by SnackVideo is to create a safety campaign for users related to public health, safety of minors, and mental health. For the second half of 2021, the security campaigns implemented in Indonesia are the COVID-19 Campaign and the COVID-19 Fact Center.
This campaign will take place in Indonesia on 2-31 August 2021 in collaboration with WHO, the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, and CARE Indonesia.
