3 Ways to Make WA Look Offline Without Turning Off Data

Messaging applications such as WhatsApp or WA make it easy for users to contact their contacts anytime and anywhere. But sometimes we also need to take a break and don't want to be disturbed by incoming messages. One way to solve this is to make WhatsApp look offline.

Making WhatsApp look offline doesn't mean you have to turn off data or WiFi on your phone. There are several ways that you can make your WhatsApp look offline but your phone is still connected to the internet, so you can still chat with other contacts while avoiding annoying messages.

Here are three ways you can do to make WhatsApp look offline without turning off data, as quoted from AppTuts, Friday (18/3/2022).

1. Turn off Last Seen

One of the easiest ways to appear offline on WhatsApp is to turn off Last Seen. This is an indicator that shows when someone looks active and online on WhatsApp.

To turn off Last Seen it's easy. First, click the three vertical dots in the right corner of the WhatsApp application, then select Settings or Settings.

After that select the Account/Account option and go to the Privacy/Privacy page. After entering the Privacy page, click the Last Seen option at the top of the list.

WhatsApp provides three options that users can choose to display their Last Seen, namely for everyone (Everyone), for contacts only (My Contacts), and not shown to anyone (Nobody). Select the Nobody option so that your Last Seen is no longer visible.

You can change this option at any time according to your preference. But it should be noted, if you turn off this feature it means you also can't see the Last Seen of other contacts.

2. Turn off Blue Tick

The second way that is no less easy is to turn off 'Read receipts' or the two blue ticks. If this feature is turned on, the sender of the message will know you are online because there will be two blue ticks under their message indicating that you have read the chat.

To turn off this blue tick, go back to the Privacy page as above. After that look for the 'Read receipts' option.

You just click the button next to it to turn off Read Receipts. But keep in mind, if Read receipts is turned off, then you also can't see if other people have read your chat or not.

3. Hide Status

The last step you can try to look offline on WhatsApp is to hide Status updates. This method can be applied to those of you who often create WhatsApp Status but don't want certain people to see it.

It's easy, first go to the Privacy/Privacy page as described above. Then look for the Status option at the bottom.

After that you will be shown a new window containing options for how you want to share Status updates. The 'My contacts' option will show your Status to all contacts, 'My contacts except...' will share your status to all contacts except the person you have selected, and 'Only share with' lets you choose who can see Status updates.

How about you, it's easy, not three ways to make WhatsApp look offline without the need to turn off the data described above. Let's try!
